SOCIALIZING

SOCIALIZING  – THE IMPORTANT SUPPORT OF MENTAL HEALTH.

If we enjoy something, we want to share it with others. If something bothers us, usually we want to tell someone else to get some relief. We just need someone to be listening to us. Socialization can be a symbol of friendship. It is a way how to be connected with other people, those who love us, who support us, who are here for us. The feeling of reassurance that there is someone for us creates our sense of feeling respected, accepted and loved. It is the support that increases our self-confidence and reduces stress. The self-confidence helps us to overcome barriers of our everyday life. Socializing provides us with the positive emotions that also affect our brain. The time which we spend with our friends and talk about things that make us happy and we support each other, this time maintains our brains in activity (memories of the past, future plans, joint walks). To maintain relationships and friendships is very important mainly when we are getting older, as we age. The feeling of being needed and useful particularly strengthens our mind and can positively influence our lives. Our activities under the socializating reduce the risk of mental illness such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Recent studies of NGO AARP, Inc. (American Association of Retired Persons), which was attended by 116 000 participants, show that people who have strong relationships both within the family, but also outside, live active lives without physical limitations,  they reduce their mental decline and thus the possibility of dementia. It is good to think about it at all ages and to maintain the relationships that work. Let us not forget our elderly relatives and acquaintances, who will also appreciate our sincere interest in them. The ideal way is to combine a meeting with a walk, because our brain loves the mental and physical activity. Also, people who suffer from Alzheimer´s disease enjoy the company. Let us not forget them. If they are your relatives, friends, acquaintances, try to find time to be with them. Maybe they are already at the stage when they are not able to recognize you, but you still know who they are. Think of a pleasant experience with them. During this visit you can make a miracle in two seconds. Just when you smile and you embrace them. You are sending out positive signals which bring some peace into their confused souls, but certainly the feeling of satisfaction to your soul.

The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life”
